What We Do

Dirigo Pediatric Dentistry is committed to creating a positive dental experience.

We want to provide the best possible treatment for your child and lay the foundations for a lifetime of great oral health.

Our pediatric team specializes and is trained in children's dental health - we speak KID!

Working with parents and each individual child, we aim to create a fun and enjoyable environment that is tailored to them - from dental education to dental procedures.

Who We Are

Dr. Mike

Dr. Mike Brown Dowling

I strive to provide children with a positive dental experience and love leading a family-friendly and state-of-the-art practice.

I am a Maine native and earned my B.S. in biology from Bates College, then going on to attend dental school at Tufts University. My residency in Pediatric Dentistry was completed at Boston University, where I earned a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies.

I am a member of the Maine Dental Association, American Dental Association, Greater Portland Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Maine Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and Academy of Laser Dentistry.

I am a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and hold a Standard Proficiency from the Academy of Laser Dentistry.

When I am not in the office, I spend my time at home in North Yarmouth with my wife, son and daughter. I am a triathlete and also love to Nordic ski, as well as tending to my fruit trees and bee hives.

The Team

Trisha

I have over 11 years experience as a Pediatric Dental Hygienist and absolutely love working with children. They make me laugh and I love being able to explore the world through their eyes.

I graduated from the University of New England in 2008 with a B.S. in Dental Hygiene and am an active member of the Maine Dental Hygiene Association.

Although I was born and raised in Massachusetts, I now consider myself a true Mainer. Away from the office you can find myself, my husband and my two sons outside as much as possible – hiking, biking, swimming, skiing and enjoying the beautiful state of Maine.

Kayla

I am a Registered Dental Hygienist at Dirigo Pediatric. I was born and raised in Maine, and graduated from the University of New England in 2009. From there, I practiced over 4 years in general dentistry. My love for children and working with young individuals led me to make the transition to pediatrics for the last 5 years. I really enjoy watching my patients grow and change throughout the years!

When I am not making smiles clean and bright, I am a busy wife and chauffeur to my two young children. I can be found at Tball games or at dance lessons. Our family enjoys being outdoors -boating, hiking, skiing and camping.

I am eager to help educate you and your child on how oral health and routine dental visits can be positive and fun!

Sue

I’m a Maine native and live in Yarmouth. I have two older children and I love working with kids which is why I am passionate about being a dental assistant. I also operate and manage my own businesses as a home based licensed massage therapist and travel agent. I love to travel and anything related to the ocean.

I attended the University of Southern Maine and Southern Maine Community College with a focus on Business Administration. I also received my license in massage therapy from the Polarity Realization Institute.

Cara

With 11 years experience as a pediatric Dental Hygienist, I am excited to take on the roll of Practice Manager at Dirigo Pediatric Dentistry and make it a positive experience for your family!

I was born and raised in Maine and graduated from the University of New England in 2008 with my B.S. in Dental Hygiene. I am currently pursuing my M.S Ed through St. Joseph’s College.

I am a member of the Maine Dental Hygiene Association and moonlight as a Clinical Instructor at the University of New England College of Dental Hygiene.

I spend my free time with my husband, our son, and dog, Lilee. I stay active playing tennis, hiking in the woods, and enjoy the smell and sounds of the ocean, and am an avid football fan.

Addie

From the moment your child comes through the door I strive for them to feel welcome, excited to be with us, and quite frankly super special. As a mommy of two young kiddos I know how important it is for children to feel comfortable in a new space. I focus on the fun to start them off on their amazing experience with us.

I spend my free time with my husband and two children on our family beef and registered tree farm in Limington where my family has lived and worked for generations spanning over several hundred years. My children are the 4th generation on our farm active in 4-H. I am a lifelong 4-H’er and as a result I have a strong drive to serve my community. I come from a business background originally and earned my BA in both Political Science and Geography with the Univ. of Maine Farmington.

Val

I am originally from a small town in western New Hampshire, but moved to Maine in 2005 when I graduated from the University of New Hampshire. I have a BA in Recreation Management, a minor in Early Childhood Education, and most recently became a Certified Nursing Assistant. I have lived and worked in the Yarmouth area for the last 14 years teaching preschool and coordinating after school programs in Falmouth and Cumberland.  I am married, have a 6 year old daughter, 3 dogs, and 2 cats.  In my spare time I like to read, play with my daughter, hike with my dogs, canoe, and in general, spend as much time outside as possible.

It is my sincere pleasure to have the opportunity to work with your kiddos in this new capacity of Patient Care Coordinator. I look forward to helping your children feel at ease in a new environment; making them feel comfortable and confident is my goal.

Addy

I make children’s smiles my top priority, it is my goal that they have a positive dental experience in an environment where they can thrive. I was born and raised in Vermont and moved to Maine where I received my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from University of New England.

I am an active member of the Maine Dental Hygiene Association. As well as a member of Sigma Phi Alpha, the National Dental Hygiene Honors Society.

When I’m not in the office, I’m at home in Westbrook with my loving boyfriend and incredible roommates. I enjoy getting out doors to experience all that Maine has to offer including hiking, boating in the summer and snowshoeing during the winter.

Kim

Everyone deserves to be heard, no matter how small. My objective during each dental visit is to ensure your child feels welcomed, whilst providing a calming and fun experience.

I am a native Mainer, and spent much of my youth playing sports and riding horseback. Becoming a dental hygienist was a natural fit for me. I had positive interactions with dental professionals during my adolescence, which inspired me to become a registered dental hygienist (RDH). I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of New England and am certified to administer local anesthesia.

Away from work, I spend my days with my husband and two year old daughter. I’m an avid traveler, enjoy writing, playing piano, sewing, hiking and yoga. We have two rescue dogs, Lilly and Will, and a Maine Coon Cat named Ansel Adams.

Thank you for allowing me to care for your child and to educate them on ways to maintain optimum oral health.

Ang

I am a Patient Care Coordinator within the practice. Having spent most of my adult life in Early Childhood and Special Education, working in a pediatric dentist office is a fantastic fit. Not to mention, my love of office supplies runs deep.

Outside the office I spend my free time enjoying all Maine has to offer with my husband, our two tiny humans, and our two dogs. I can often be found with my nose in a book or planning the next party.

Making people smile and feel welcome is a major goal in my daily encounters. Also, I believe there is nothing in life that can’t be solved by sprinkling a little sarcasm on it or by interpretive dance.
